Fortunately, because it happened at a pedestrian crossing where the light was green, the editor was so surprised that the broken foot, ribs, and fractured neck were just distant cracks in his darkened and haemorrhaging brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emergency surgery and a lengthy hospital stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several weeks of rehabilitation after more surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wheelchair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crutches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking without a cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And no accepting submissions, editing, or posting. Sorry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But now he&#8217;s back with some interesting scars and a re-implanted skull. Perhaps the near future will see many more cities adopt the car-free model of <a href=\"http:\/\/ok.pontevedra.gal\/en\/city-without-cars\/\">Pontevedra<\/a> in Spain.
