The alignment of the tiles creates circular movement in square space analogous to the cyclical force of human migration constrained by the limits of its own material.

The misalignment at the centre creates imbalance, tension. Point symmetry is threatened through this instance of domination / segregation.

Variances of tone across and along the woven channels become random noise across the grid as detail becomes substance.

The floor becomes a four-paned window to the world.
