The embarrassment is clear when, through rough sand, the plant exerts itself and ends up leafless, is what the other plants think, diminished in their own way by sparse limb count.

Oh, but it didn’t grow to compete over the short duration of time but to tell it — it’s a flat minute hand marking ten.

Fortuitous, then, that the sun is always out here.
